Grazing Horse Cedar Flute – Key of G Minor

This G minor Native style flute, made from aromatic cedar, features a nipple-style mouthpiece, allowing for refined breath control and nuanced articulation. The result is a responsive, expressive voice—ideal for both meditative playing and melodic exploration.

The foot of the flute is laser-engraved with the image of a grazing horse, a scene that to me speaks of deep calm and grounded presence. There’s nothing more peaceful than a horse at rest, head down, connected to the earth. Yet this same horse, when startled, can bolt with unstoppable force—fueled by instinct and raw energy.

This dual nature is why the horse is often seen as a power totem—a guide to untapped creativity, a symbol of freedom, and a carrier into other realms of insight and expression. But as with all powerful symbols, fear often walks close behind. The voice of this flute invites us to walk with that fear, not run from it—to play through it, and find the passion that lies just on the other side.

The cedar body is rich with natural character, including several sealed knots that add to the visual story of the wood. Each knot has been carefully stabilized to ensure both durability and aesthetic beauty.

Please Note: As this flute is made from aromatic cedar, it may not be suitable for individuals with sensitivities or respiratory allergies. Cedar’s natural insect-repelling properties are a sign of its strength, but they can be irritating to sensitive individuals. If you are prone to allergies, you may wish to consider an alternative wood such as walnut, maple, or cypress.
