Flute of Two Winds – F# Drone
Crafted from aromatic cedar with yellowheart accents, this F# drone flute blends the grounded and the spiritual into a single, harmonious instrument. Unlike most drone flutes with parallel side-by-side bores, this design places the secondary bore beneath the primary, offering improved balance and comfort during extended playing sessions.
 
The top bore is fingered just like a traditional Native American-style flute, making it familiar to seasoned players. The lower drone bore features a unique design: three tone holes are covered by soft buckskin bands, allowing the player to select the drone pitch. Move the bands to change the root note or lift them entirely to let the bore sing freely.
 
For those with the dexterity and curiosity, the flute can also be played using both hands independently—one hand playing a melody on the top bore, the other selecting notes on the lower. This opens the door to two-note harmonies and gentle chord drones, all controlled by your breath through a shared dual-bore mouthpiece.
